Alittle over a year ago, we kickstarted our very first localization course. We were excited and also a little scared. A lot has happened since then, and today we already have 33 graduates who work as localization experts!
Success happened quickly.
All of our 1st class graduates passed Microsoft’s certification exam. Two of our graduates currently work as localization project managers at local translation companies. Four graduates work as editors and translators on Google projects. One graduate joined the Airbnb team. Many graduates work on exciting projects commissioned by companies such as WeWork, Skype, Amazon, Facebook, Booking.com and many other leading corporations. Check out our graduate testimonials here.
And today? We’re wrapping up our 4th class next week, and our students will join our graduates at the forefront of localization.
What else happened at Versio Academy?
- In 2019, we began practical workshops for translators and editors with the MemoQ tool.
- On December 17th, we launched our annual conference with the participation of 120 people. The conference was a great success, and included lectures on localization, micro copy and writing for digital. It even included a fascinating discussion panel with experts from diverse fields, and interviews with QA and localization professionals from leading companies from Russia and the Czech Republic.
What’s Next?
It looks like 2020 is going to be even more busy than 2019. We’re opening two new localization classes – the fifth class will begin in May (registration underway!) and the sixth will start in October.
These days, we’re also launching a series of digital content writing workshops, for writers, content managers and business owners who wish to hone their writing skills and adapt them to digital environments. These one-day workshops focus on specific topics. The first workshop will be hosted on March 8th by Michael Amir. The workshop is called “Secrets and Writing Techniques for Digital Environments”.
